GTA 6 is not coming to PS4. Rockstar Games has confirmed the game will only release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The same is true for Xbox One and older consoles like Xbox 360 or PS3, which are also not supported. If you own a PS4 or Xbox One, you cannot get GTA 6 on your current console.

A PS4 or Xbox One owner needs to upgrade to a PS5, Xbox Series X, or Xbox Series S to play GTA 6. Pre-orders for the game opened on 25 June 2026. The release date is set for 19 November 2026, a date Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has publicly reaffirmed with no further delay expected. Before that date, your main task is securing a compatible console.

The confirmed GTA 6 editions and prices

Two editions are available, with the Standard Edition priced at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99.

The Ultimate Edition includes an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action. Its contents are threaded across the story of protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, with new items uncovered behind each chapter. Specific items include the '95 Grotti Cheetah sports car, Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers with palm-tree-etched grips, and personalized variants for Jason's Girardi ES9 pistol and Lucia's Klose K17 pistol. Other bonuses are the Dinka Enduro motorcycle, a Crest Kayak, exclusive mod kits, and access to shops like Rideout Customs, Sara's Unisex Salon, and Electric Fang Tattoo which are only open with the Ultimate Edition.

What you need to know before 19 November

Pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026. Anyone who pre-orders any edition gets the Vintage Vice City Pack. This bonus includes the two-tone '55 Vapid Stanier sedan, the Shore Court personal garage near Ocean Beach, outfits for Jason and Lucia, and a tropical weapon pattern. Digital pre-orders also come with a free month of GTA+, which includes access to the GTA+ Games Library.

Preloading begins on 12 November 2026, one week before launch. Rockstar has also confirmed that boxed copies contain a download code, and outlets report there is no Blu-ray game disc, so every player will download the game. Coverage suggests clearing around 250GB of free space to be safe, although Rockstar has not published an official download size.

A PC release date for GTA 6 has not been announced by Rockstar. Based on the company's history, a PC version could arrive in 2027, but this is only an estimate and not a confirmed date.

A premium Collector's Box called Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State, Vice City Collection is also available. Pre-orders for this limited set opened on 24 September 2026. It is inspired by the in-game TV show Macca the Gator and contains items like a Macca the Gator figure, a New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback, Oakley Frogskins sunglasses, and a Leonida Keys crossbody bag. Kotaku reports the Collector's Box costs $400 on Rockstar's store.

Confirmed facts about the game

GTA 6 is set in the state of Leonida, home to Vice City, which Rockstar calls Vice City, USA. The confirmed playable protagonists are Jason Duval, a former Army soldier working for drug runners, and Lucia Caminos, who served time in Leonida Penitentiary. The story involves supporting characters like the paranoid Cal Hampton, Vice City legend Boobie Ike, and seasoned bank robber Raul Bautista.

The game's official soundtrack is Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, featuring 34 original tracks made with Atlantic Records. It releases on 19 November 2026 alongside the game. Six singles have already been released, including tracks by Yung Lean, Travis Scott, and Keith Richards.

Rockstar has not announced several details, although the store listings already rate the game ESRB M and PEGI 18. The full weapon list, vehicle list, mission list, and map size have not been published. Details on an online mode, cheat codes, and the voice cast are also not confirmed. The only trailers released are Trailer 1 from 4 December 2023, Trailer 2 from 6 May 2025, and An Extended Look from 27 August 2026, which was captured from in-game PlayStation 5 footage.
