Only Six GTA 6 Map Regions Are Confirmed Now. Your Full Map Arrives With the Game
The GTA 6 map will be set across the state of Leonida, Rockstar's version of Florida. Rockstar calls this setting Vice City, USA, and describes it as the darkest side of the sunniest place in America.
While the full map for GTA 6 has not been published, Rockstar has confirmed six distinct regions players will visit. The game moves beyond the city limits of Vice City to include varied areas across the state.
The six confirmed GTA 6 regions
Rockstar's official site highlights six specific locations within Leonida. These are the only places confirmed for the map before the game's release on 19 November 2026.
Vice City serves as the main urban hub. The other five regions expand the map to include coastal, rural, and mountainous areas, offering a broader scope than previous games set in this location.
- Vice City: The iconic metropolis and the heart of the game's setting.
- Leonida Keys: A chain of islands, home to drug runner Brian Heder and his boat yard.
- Grassrivers: Leonida's wetlands, which Rockstar calls the untamable jewel of Leonida's crown. The gators may be the most famous attraction, but Rockstar says far deadlier predators and weirder discoveries wait among the mangroves.
- Port Gellhorn: Leonida's forgotten coast, a once-popular vacation spot of cheap motels, shut-down attractions and empty strip malls that Rockstar says now runs on malt liquor, painkillers and truck stop energy drinks.
- Ambrosia: A named region shown alongside the other key areas.
- Mount Kalaga: A mountainous area, featured with an off-road vehicle in the Ultimate Edition.
Each of the six places has its own guide, covering what Rockstar says about it, what the official screenshots show and what is still unknown. Look for the GTA 6 Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga guides, and for the GTA 6 location guide on the real Florida places outlets have spotted in the trailers.
GTA 6 map size and fan projects
Rockstar Games has not announced an official GTA 6 map size. There is no confirmed figure for how the map compares to GTA V or any other game.
In the absence of official details, fan mapping projects have emerged. These projects, like the GTA 6 mapping project, analyze trailers and screenshots to create estimates. They are not based on Rockstar data and their accuracy cannot be verified until the game launches.
How GTA 6 compares to GTA V and Vice City
Any direct GTA 6 vs GTA 5 map comparison is speculation. The geography and scope of Leonida are different from GTA V's San Andreas, which contained Los Santos and Blaine County.
GTA 6 returns to Vice City, the setting of the 2002 game GTA: Vice City, which starred Tommy Vercetti. The new game expands the setting from a single city to an entire state.
What is not known about the map
Many details players expect are still unconfirmed. Rockstar has not released an official full map, a detailed map list, or a mission list.
The online mode for GTA 6 has also not been detailed. History shows GTA Online launched two weeks after GTA V in 2013, but Rockstar has not announced a plan for GTA 6.
Vehicle and weapon lists are not available. Rockstar has named vehicles only through the game editions, such as the '55 Vapid Stanier in the pre-order pack and the '95 Grotti Cheetah in the Ultimate Edition. Cheat codes for GTA 6 have not been announced either. Rockstar has not said if they will exist or how they would work.
What changes on 19 November
This page is a pre-launch guide based on confirmed facts and reported details. It will be rewritten on 19 November 2026 when the game is released.
On that date, the full GTA 6 map will be accessible. This page will then carry the complete and verified list of locations, landmarks, and details that players can explore in Leonida.
What you can do now
Pre-orders for GTA 6 are open, having started on 25 June 2026. The standard edition costs $79.99, and the ultimate edition costs $99.99.
Preloading begins on 12 November 2026, one week before launch. It is recommended you clear around 250GB of space, though this is an outlet recommendation, not an official Rockstar figure. The game is confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. A PC release date has not been announced.
