GTA 6 Will Not Be Delayed Again, Says Take-Two. Your Wait Ends 19 November

Grand Theft Auto VI is not delayed again. Its release date is confirmed for 19 November 2026. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has publicly reaffirmed this date and stated there will be no further delays. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on that day.

This date is the result of two previous delays. Rockstar Games originally announced a fall 2025 release window. On 2 May 2025, the studio delayed the game to 26 May 2026. A second delay was announced on 6 November 2025, moving the release to its current date of 19 November 2026.

The current release date and what Take-Two has said

The 19 November 2026 date is now locked. Rockstar's official site shows "Coming November 19, 2026." Strauss Zelnick's statement explicitly ruled out another postponement, settling the question of further delays. Pre-orders for the Standard and Ultimate Editions opened on 25 June 2026.

The Standard Edition costs $79.99. The Ultimate Edition costs $99.99. Pre-ordering any edition grants the Vintage Vice City Pack. This pack includes the two-tone '55 Vapid Stanier sedan, the Shore Court personal garage near Ocean Beach, outfits for Jason and Lucia, and a tropical weapon pattern.

What we know about the game

Grand Theft Auto VI is set in the state of Leonida, home to Vice City. Rockstar describes it as "Vice City, USA" and "the darkest side of the sunniest place in America." The setting is widely reported to be based on Florida.

You play as two protagonists: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Jason grew up around grifters and did a stint in the Army. Lucia was taught to fight by her father and served time in Leonida Penitentiary. The story takes them across six confirmed regions: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga.

The supporting cast includes characters like Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, and Raul Bautista. Rockstar has not announced a full mission list, vehicle list, or weapon list. The voice cast is also not officially confirmed.

What is not confirmed for GTA 6

Several major details remain unannounced. Rockstar has not confirmed a PC release date. Based on the history of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, a PC version could arrive in 2027, but this is only an estimate.

The official download size is unknown. Coverage suggests clearing around 250GB of free space, but this is a recommendation from outlets, not a Rockstar figure. The map size is not published.

Rockstar has not detailed an online mode for GTA 6 or its launch timing. The developer has also not said whether GTA 6 will have cheat codes. Any list of cheat codes online is invented.

Rockstar has confirmed that boxed copies contain a download code, and outlets report there will be no Blu-ray game disc at launch.
